Delta Advancement Group has asked Nigerian lawmakers to display moderation when seeking support from their zones for presidential contenders.
According to the group, no portion of Nigeria can produce the president without the help of others, thus unfounded statements that one region has the numbers to produce the president in 2023 should be avoided.
This was said by its Coordinator, Ogbaudu Oke, in an Asaba statement on Sunday.
“The Southern Governors Forum has lately sworn not to support any party that refuses to select a Southern candidate for president, as well as the Northern Elders Forum’s comparable comments,” he stated.

“I believe the problem of which zone will produce the next President has the potential to exacerbate the country’s already fractured unity; if caution is not exercised, this might result in total turmoil and instability.”
