Kayode Oluwarotimi, a staff of BYC Consultant Firm in Irewolede, Ilorin, Kwara State, is accused of killing a tricyclist, Kola Adeyemi, for the sum of N500.
Okasanmi Ajayi, the spokesperson for the Kwara State Police Command, made the announcement in Ilorin, the state capital, on Tuesday.
According to Ajayi, the tricyclist collided with a Honda bullet car driven by Oluwarotimi and destroyed one of the car’s parking lights worth N2,500.
According to the police spokeswoman, the tricyclist offered to pay N2,000 for the broken parking light, which enraged the vehicle’s driver.
He went on to say that the two got into a disagreement, and Oluwarotimi smacked the tricyclist, who slumped as a result of the attack.
On Monday night, the tricyclist was brought to Garin Alimi hospital, where he was pronounced dead as at 4.50 p.m., the incident occurred.
At about 7.45 p.m. on Monday night, one Ganiyu Adebayo, the vice chairman of the Tricycle Riders Association, Garin Alimi/Asa Dam unit, Ilorin, reported the case to Budo Nuhu police station, according to Ajayi.
He stated that the vehicle’s driver had been arrested and would be charged in court once the inquiry was completed.
