Following his loss to Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday night, Anthony Joshua was transported to the hospital for evaluation.
The British-Nigerian fighter is thought to have sustained damage to his eye socket.
Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, admitted that he couldn’t see well after the ninth round.
‘AJ’ had a black and swollen eye by the 10th round, as Usyk continued to beat him at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
In the last seconds, the Ukrainian came close to knocking him out, but he won by unanimous decision, 117-112, 116-112, and 115-113.
“After the ninth round, he complained he couldn’t see, and he was definitely getting tagged a lot.
“His force appeared to have deserted him, the tank was empty, and in the 12th round, it was only his heart that kept him on his feet,” Hearn remarked afterwards.
