Civil Defence Corps pledges protection of public utilities

Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps has pledged to arrest and prosecute anyone found vandalizing national assets considering the increased rates of vandalism in Bauchi state.

The Bauchi state Commandant of the NSCDC , Nuraddin Abdullahi gave the assurance while receiving a delegation of management staff of the Bauchi State Urban Water and Sewarage Corporation during a courtesy call at the command.

Nuraddin Abdullahi maintained that the command is ever ready to work in close collaboration with all agencies and parastatals to ensure maximum protection of public structures , and properties to prevent vandalism.

He assured the delegation of the command’s tireless efforts towards safeguarding not only water pipelines and electrical facilities but every National assets, as the command remained vigilant to make Bauchi crime Free State.

Earlier, the Managing Director Urban Water and Sewarage Corporation, Engineer Aminu Aliyu Gital, informed the state Commandant of the recent vandalization and illegal connection of merger water pipelines supplying water to Bauchi metropolis.

Dr. Aliyu Gital who described the level of damage as inimical to the effective Water supply in the state, solicited for the deployment of more personnel and men of Civil Defense Corps to protect the Water facilities.
