Between July and September 2021, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) claims to have seized commodities worth N41.4 billion in Kano and Jigawa states.
Sulaiman Pai Umar, the Command’s Controller, revealed the information while addressing journalists in Kano on the Command’s activities.
He explained that the Service earned N16.9 billion from the two states between January and August 2021.
707 bags of foreign rice, 155 bales of second-hand clothing, 130 cartons of spaghetti, and 231 cartons of creamer were among the items seized, according to Sulaiman Pai Umar.
He stated that the Command had turned over to NAFDAC 185 cartons of unregistered and expired pharmaceuticals that it had seized.
