The Governor of Kaduna State, El Rufai Nasir on Wednesday visited the steel plant in Gujeni in the state capital.
El Rufai said, “We are impressed by the steady progress of the Steel Plant being built in Gujeni, Kagarko Local Government, by African Natural Resources and Mines Limited.”
We inspected the sprawling plant yesterday along with Alok Gupta, CEO of the company.
This investment is a significant leap in the industrialisation of Kaduna State. We are proud hosts of this investment in the mining and steel sector of our state.
African Natural Resources is making a statement that Kaduna State has bankable mining assets and is friendly enough to host an investment worth over $600m. We thank them for the largest ever single investment in Kaduna State.
The vast agribusiness potentials of our state were showcased with the huge investments by Olam which commissioned its hatchery and feedmill project in September 2017. Tomato Jos, who have helped our farmers to achieve unprecedented yield levels in tomato, is also set to commission its tomato processing plant.
We are grateful to have these investors helping to empower our farmers, create jobs and develop our state. We thank all our investors for their confidence. As a government, we will continue to support enterprise and promote initiative, provide infrastructure and develop human capital. We recognise the private sector for its ability to create jobs, provide skills and knowhow, contribute to government revenues and help develop the state he added.
