In an efforts reduced the high intake of drugs among youth in Kaduna and the Northern part of the state.
A Non Governmental organizations (NGO), Eye Opener Women and Youths Foundation has organised community services Sunday in kaduna by bringing women HOBA ethnic from Hong Local Govt of Adamawa State by engaging all ethnics the campaign with the desire to have Tobacco and drug free community
The women development who where engage in sweeping some streets in Nassarawa community of Kaduna fourth local government area of the state.
Mrs Magret Julius who is the founder and president of the Eye opener Foundation said the aimed is to have a free tobacco and substances abuse.
Julius said the foundation has been carrying out campaign against intake of tobacco and other illicit drugs adding the sanitation and sweeping of Nassarawa neighborhood which is another strategy of working together to win the heart of the people to and encourage them to quit tobacco use in the society by doing street sanitation.
According to her, the NGo has been carrying out a lot of campaign against use of tobacco and other substances
” We have been doing different strategies house to house streets to streets among others”
She said the campaign will be running on SDGs goal through which has to do with reaching out to ethnics group,
” And today we start with Hoba development group where the clean up streets in Nassarawa community Kaduna south and also advocate on no tobacco use with all this strategies we will definitely gets its rights”
Hajiya Zubainatu Sulaiman Women leader, Eye Opener Foundation Nassarawa community said the foundation has been carrying out enlightenment campaign against illicit drugs usage and it’s yielding positive results.
She emphasis that ,the essence of cleaning the environment is also to have a healthy environment saying that cleaness is close to godliness.
She explains that women coming together they would bring about positive e development their by a overcoming the challenges facing youths in the society.
Speaking also , the district head of Nassarawa community who was represented by community leader Alhaji Abdullahi Musa assured the foundation of adequate support in other to achieved success in their set goals which is drug free society.
Musa traditional title holder Samakin Nassarawa who received the organizations on behalf of the district head said , they are ever ready to rendered support and ensure drugs free Nassarawa community and Nigeria in general
He said, the NGO massage will be deliver to all traditional title holder in the community so as to be passed to their followers.
