Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bauchi state council has urged the state government to honour it’s pledge to construct a befitting Secretariat for the union.
This was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the council meeting held at the press centre as part of it’s weeklong activities for the 2020 Press Week in Bauchi.
The communiqué signed by the state secretary of the Union, Isah Garba Gadau , also commended the state council for the establishment of ethics and disciplinary committee to checkmate abuse of the profession by quacks.
It equally praised the union for the role played following police brutality against a member in the course of carrying out it’s assignment.
The communiqué also commended the council for establishing disciplinary committee that would flush out quacks and checkmate abuses of ethnic by some members.
While commending the efforts of both the federal & State governments in curtailing security challenges, it equally called on the state government to take the recent issue if kidnappings in the state with all seriousness and tackle the menace
