A prominent bandit in the Katsina police net has named a ward head and two other people as his accomplices in a banditry attack in Zamfara State’s Tsafe Local Government Area (LGA).
Among his collaborators, the apprehended suspect named the ward head (Mai Unguwa Zailani), Abdulkadir Kado, and one Bala Sani.
During the investigation, Jabiru Muhammed (aka DAN OGA), a 30-year-old notorious bandit, said that he works under the authority of a notorious bandit known only as “Chairman,” who is currently hibernating in Zamfara jungle.
The suspect also admitted to participating in the Saburu village raid in Tsafe LGA, according to the Katsina police command.
‘Dan Oga’ also described how they broke into shops in the same Tsafe LGA’s Ungwar Dodo village and carried away food and other items.
“The Katsina Police Command has succeeded in arresting one Jabiru Muhammed alias “DAN OGA”, ‘m’ aged 30yrs of Sabaru village, Tsafe LGA, Zamfara state, a renowned armed bandit,” according to a statement signed by Police Public Relations Officer, S.P Gambo.
“During the investigation, the suspect admitted to being under the influence of one Chairman, a notorious bandit hiding out in the Zamfara jungle. He also admitted to taking part in the kidnapping of four children in Saburu village, Tsafe LGA, Zamfara State, for which a ransom of two million Naira (N2,000,000) was paid, as well as the attacks on Unguwar Dodo village, Tsafe LGA, Zamfara State, where shops were broken into and food and other items were stolen.
“Among his conspirators, he named the Ward Head, Mai Unguwa Zailani, Abdulkadir Kado, and Bala Sani. “The investigation is still ongoing,” said SP. Gambo.
