Wife of Ogun monarch accuses husband of fraud

Halima Oniru, the estranged wife of Oba Adetokunbo Tejuoso, the Olu of Orile-Kemta in Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State, has accused the monarch of, among other things, acquiring money from her under false pretense.

According to the Daily Trust, the woman had previously petitioned the Inspector General of Police through her lawyer, J. S Agada & Co., accusing the traditional ruler of fabricating numerous business plans in order to defraud her firm, Haleems Integrated Services Limited, an Abuja-based construction firm.

Ogun monarch’s wife accuses her husband of fraud, violence, and blackmail, and petitions the IGP.

Oniru claimed on September 26 that Oba Tejuoso had borrowed up to N150 million from her under the guise of “pursuing a chieftaincy title in Ogun state.”

She further claimed that the monarch had supplied her with false receipts for some of the transactions in order to rob her of a large sum of money at one point.

“Under the pretense of doing various types of business, he proceeded to make incessant/continuous demands for hundreds of millions of dollars,” she stated.

“We ultimately got together and started living together as husband and wife.” During our time together, I learned about the other aspects of his deceptive and countless malicious acts.

“As a result, I confronted him on same and as a result, he started beating and attempted killing me at any slighted opportunity and he finally pushed me out of the house without allowing me to carry any of my belongings from the house. There are pictures of the various degree of injuries inflicted on me by the suspect in the course of beating me and attempting to kill me.

“Tejuoso forged and doctored some receipts through which he defrauded me huge sum of monies on different occasion unnoticed. For example, on one occasion, the suspect collected the sum of N15,000,000.00 (Fifteen Million Naira) from me as the cost for buying an Excavator and after the purchase of same, he brought a forged receipt of payment bearing the sum of N15,000,000.00 (Fifteen Million Naira) only

“But when I investigated the said price from the original seller of the Excavator, it was discovered through the original receipt of payment issued in respect of the purchase, the same bears the sum of N10,000,000.00 (Ten Million Naira) only against the doctored sum of N15,000,000.00 (Fifteen Million Naira) only which he claimed he bought the Excavator,” she said.

She had earlier accused the monarch of beating her on any slight provocation, adding that he sent her out of her house since March without allowing her to pack her belongings.

Oniru claimed that the traditional ruler had threatened to blackmail her releasing her nude pictures on social media.

She also accused Tejuoso of allegedly engaging a blogger to malign her image and drag her children on the social media.

Reacting to the allegations, Oba Tejuosho denies ever hitting Oniru, adding that the money he was owing her was not up to N150million.

“I wouldn’t want to say anything negative about her. I never beat Halima, she fell down in my compound inside the gutter and she had bruises on her leg, but she printed that picture to show the police that I was the one that beat her. If that statement is a lie, let the God of heaven crush my life. But if it is not a lie, let God spare my life and anybody that lied, let the wrath of heaven come upon the person,” he said.

“On the N150million, we have been dragging this for 2years now. I told her to prove to me where she got the N150million from. Let me be frank with you, there has been money issue between me and Halima. I told her to calculate what she had taken, how much is left and how much I’m going to refund her. She has been running away from that, all she’s saying is that I’m owing her N150milion.”
