…As APC Chairman goes to Zone C

As the ruling All progressive Congress, APC, kaduna State, re-elect a Southern kaduna person as state party Chairman, hope for the zone to produce Governor of the state from the area in 2023 has again been lay to rest.
The ruling party, re-elected Hon Emmanuel Jegada as it state party Chairman for the second term during the state Congress elections held on Saturday at Gamji Hall, Murtala square, kaduna State.
During the Congress attended by APC topshots and other top government functionaries including Governor Nasir El-Rufai, the party delegates affirmed the former Chairman and all other former party executive members for the second term.
Although some of the party royal who spoke in an interview sound different on the ruling out Southern kaduna Governor in 2023, saying that as a party that believe in democracy, APC would allowed everyone to vie from all the zones.
A councilor representing Badiko/krumashi ward, Hon. Mohammed Sani said as the party that believe in democracy every person could be allowed to contest from all the zones.
He said as one of the most democratic Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai conducted the one of the most free and fair local government elections in the State and country at large where opposition parties adequately took part and even won elections.
According to him, the affirmation of the state party chairman all other executive of the party by delegates are indications that they’ve performed very well during the first tenure.
Explaining further, Hon Sani said democracy is all about population and people, adding that development under El-Rufai also cut across all the three political zones equally, an indication that no zones would be left behind.
All efforts to speak to the chairman when contacted on phone proved abortive due to network challenges in the state, source however said that the everything about the affirmation was done since last night.
Recalled that the current APC Governor and previous one came from zones A and B only.
