Justice Husseini Baba-Yusuf has been nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari to serve as Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory’s High Court in Abuja.
According to NAN, this was contained in a letter dated October 4 that was sent to the Senate by the President.
Ovie Omo-Agege, the Senate’s Deputy President, read the letter in plenary on Tuesday.
In the letter, Buhari clarified that the request for Yusuf’s confirmation was made in accordance with Section 256(1) of the Federal Republic of Nigerian Constitution of 1999. (as amended).
Remember that the President had authorized Justice Yusuf’s appointment as Acting Chief Judge of the High Court of Justice of the FCT in August.
The appointment, which took effect from August 1, 2021, followed the recommendation of the National Judicial Council (NJC).
