Do not let Igbos to go to war again, says Sen Umeh

By Emma Chinenye

Do not let Igbos to go to war again, is an instruction given to me by Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, the Eternal Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

“On no account must you allow Igbos to go to war ever again,’’ a former APGA, Sen. Victor Umeh made the revelation during APGA campaigns at Ukpor, Nnewi South Local Government Area (LGA) of Anambra.

According to him, Dim Ojukwu is clear in his directive, which remains a commitment to the course of the APGA mandate.

Sen. Umeh, who represented Anambra Central at the National Assembly, said APGA would remain the only Igbo platform that could guarantee victory for the Igbos in Nigeria.

Umeh, who is also Chairman Reconciliation Committee of APGA ahead of the Nov. 6 Governorship elections, noted that Igbos need to dialogue in order to negotiate their pride of place in Nigeria.

“The victory of Igbos in Nigeria cannot be achieved by war but rather through negotiated settlement.

“APGA is the only platform that Igbos can use to be delivered from the marginalisation in the Nigerian State. With Igbo unity in APGA, Igbos will get to the zenith of politics.

“We should consistently vote in Igbos through APGA, to gradually extend to other states in the South East. Once APGA captures the South East, Igbos will have a voice in policy-making in Nigeria.

“If the next Governor of Anambra State is not from APGA, Igbos will lose political grip.

“Soludo is more credible among all the candidates for the Nov. 6 election. Soludo has the pedigree and wealth of knowledge to build on the achievements of Gov. Obiano Willie Obiano,’’ Umeh pointed out.

He also urged the people of Anambra to remain steadfast and come out en masse on Election Day to ensure victory for APGA.
