End SARS: Stop collecting bribes from politicians – Mr Macaroni tells celebrities

Debo Adebayo, also known as Mr. Macaroni, a Nigerian Instagram comic, has cautioned Nigerian celebrities to stop accepting payments from politicians.

On Wednesday, during the End SARS demonstration in commemoration of those who died at the Lekki tollgate in October 2020, Macaroni said this in a live video on his Instagram account.

When they wish to collect bribes from corrupt politicians, he advised them to consider the millions of lives that are being wrecked in the country.

“Think about the millions of lives that your greedy decision will damage if you continue to enable the government by collecting money from them on a regular basis.

“Consider what that money could accomplish for millions of underprivileged people if the government grants you $50 million or $100 million.

“In Nigeria, people are suffering greatly. People who are homeless don’t know where their next meal will come from. Consider them the next time you extend your hands to take bribes from our avaricious politicians.

“Stop taking bribes from these politicians, Nigerian celebs, and start donating your voices,” he added.
