On Sunday, France fought back from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Spain and win the UEFA Nations League.
Luis Enrique’s side took the lead through Mikel Oyarzabal, who scored after Theo Hernandez hit the underside of the crossbar.
Les Blues promptly answered, with Kylian Mbappe finding Karim Benzema, who curled into an incredible effort.
Mbappe scored the game-winning goal with 10 minutes remaining.
“We shown our character in the face of a formidable opponent. We never surrendered.
“It exemplifies what great teams do: they never panic, they are patient, and they wait for the appropriate moment.”
“We’ll enjoy this title for a while and then go for the World Cup [next year],” Benzema remarked.
The Nations League is UEFA’s secondary event for national teams, and it is only in its second iteration.
