The Lagos State Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) will launch ‘Operation Show Your Driver’s License and Vehicle License’ on Monday.
The Commander, Olusegun Ogungbemide, issued a statement on Sunday condemning how vehicle owners, tricycle riders, and bike riders use the road without a permit.
Ogungbemide expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that a large number of permanent driver’s licenses had yet to be picked up from FRSC stations.
During the first phase of the operation, it was discovered that many motorists drive without proper documents, while others do not have any.
“With the recent rise in vehicle traffic as a result of the winter months, all drivers should be familiar with their driver’s licenses.
“All drivers would have legitimate vehicle documents as a result of the exercise,” Ogungbemide remarked. The operation will begin on Monday, October 4th, and end on October 10th, 2021.
Defaulters’ vehicles may be detained until they submit legitimate paperwork, according to the FRSC.
According to the commander, Regulation 67(1) of the National Road Traffic Regulations (NRTR) 2021 says that anyone driving a vehicle on a public road must have an original driver’s license.
