Sanusi Kiri, Federal Road Safety Corps Commander (FRSC), said on Thursday that it has recorded 2 deaths since the month of July, August and September.
Kiri, disclosed this in a statement forwarded to Metro Times Nigeria.
Kiri said that the deaths in the state was as a result of high speeding along Jakana and Auno village the main penetration zone of Boko Haram.
He also said that 106 people were injured during the third quarter of the month due to road crash.
According to Kiri, they have recorded 106 people injured and 2 death since July, August and September, 2021.
He said, “drivers are now compiling with the rules and regulations guideline compare to last year 2020, this was due to our public enlightenment and campaign in the state.”
Kiri noted that the Borno state government has also embark on rehabilitation of the bad roads along Maiduguri – Damaturu road, which as a result of that has reduced road transportation crash (RTC).
Kiri noted that the behaviour of road users was an important determinant of a country’s road safety performance.
Kiri warned motorists to continue to abide by traffic rules and desist from reckless driving so as to prevent accidents and promote safety on the highways.
