A skateboarder showered the George Floyd memorial statue in Union Square in silver paint Sunday morning, according to cops.
According to a police spokeswoman, about 10 a.m., the male vandal can be seen hiding behind a nearby statue of the late Rep. John Lewis and tinkering with something in his backpack.
According to the representative, the clip shows him subsequently taking off on his skateboard while splashing paint on Floyd’s bust. He stated that the video will not be released by the police.
A photo taken to Twitter shows what looks to be silver paint spilled on the statue, which was likewise vandalized just days after it was unveiled in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, on Juneteenth.
The statue was recently relocated to a park in Manhattan.

The neighboring statues of Lewis and Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old black woman killed by Louisville, Ky. police last year, were not harmed.
The statue of Floyd was splashed with black paint and labeled with the words “Patriot Front” – a white supremacist hate group — in June.
