Greenwood accused of cheating during EPL

Paul Scholes, a Manchester United legend, has accused forward Mason Greenwood of ‘cheating’ after the club’s 5-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.

Greenwood, according to Scholes, wrecked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team by making poor decisions during the defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford.

The former midfield maestro slammed the 20-year-role old’s in Liverpool’s first goal, claiming that the England striker raced out of position to close down Virgil van Dijk, forcing Man United’s defense to change shape.

Man United were defeated by Liverpool thanks to a hat-trick from Mohamed Salah and goals from Naby Keita and Diogo Jota.

Scholes told Premier League Productions, “Tactically, it was horrible today, really bad.”

“On the other hand, gamers must have some level of common sense.”

“You think about Mason [Greenwood] going to shut him down in the first place, that was virtually cheating.”

“He knew he wasn’t going to receive the ball, and he knew it appeared as if he was going to close him down, but he knew he’d simply pass it and he wouldn’t be able to do anything.”

“It’s almost a cheating way of racing to him; they pass it, and he takes a short walk back because he feels like he’s done his part.” But he hasn’t done his part; he’s damaged the entire team; [Aaron] Wan-Bissaka is forced to come out, [Victor] Lindelof is forced to play right-back, and then there’s all the space in the midfield.

“All of a sudden, with Mason not performing his job well, the team attacking, Salah played Keita in, he could’ve played Alexander-Arnold in, he could’ve played Robertson in. The way it went down was ludicrous; sometimes players need to utilize their common sense.”
