Kidnappers in Ondo State have kidnapped a father, two children, and their cousin.
The four-member family was kidnapped in the state’s Akure North Local Government Area’s Iju-Itagbolu community.
The victims were allegedly kidnapped by the gunmen on their way from Ado Ekiti to Akure, the state capital, for a religious crusade.
The four victims were riding in a blue space bus with three other passengers when they were forced to come to a halt by shooters shooting intermittently in the air.
The other captives were not so fortunate, and their abductors matched them into the bush after the three other occupants of the vehicle managed to flee the area.
Meanwhile, the kidnappers are claimed to have sought a ransom of N1 million from each of the victims.
When contacted, DSP Funmilayo Odunlami, the state Police Public Relations Officer, said that it was still being determined if the event occurred in Ondo or Ekiti State.
The PPRO, on the other hand, stated that an investigation into the incident had commenced.
