Surajo Mamman alias Kutika, a kidnap kingpin, has been arrested by the Katsina State Police Command. He confessed to being involved in a banditry and kidnapping syndicate for about 15 years.
According to Mamman, who is 50 years old, he has lost track of the number of innocent individuals he has slain and kidnapped for ransom since his imprisonment.
“I belong to a kidnapping group under the command of Sani Muhidinge,” the suspect told journalists during an interview at the police headquarters in Katsina. There are about 200 members in our group, with at least 150 AK-47 rifles. I’ve lost track of how many individuals we’ve kidnapped and killed, but I’m praying for Allah’s forgiveness.”
The suspect was paraded alongside other suspects, and the Command’s spokesman, Gambo Isah, said the police are working to apprehend Mamman’s accomplices as well.
