NSCDC arrests Man for alleged goat theft in Kwara

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State has detained one Garuba Ashin for allegedly stealing a goat in his neighborhood in the Kaiama Local Government Area.

Garuba, a native of Kaiama’s Iwala neighborhood, was apprehended on Thursday, according to the corps’ spokesman, Babawale Zaid Afolabi in Ilorin.

Following numerous reports and complaints from homeowners about their missing domestic animals in the neighborhood, he claimed, constant surveillance by defense corps operatives led to the suspect’s arrest.

“The heightened surveillance paid off recently when one Garuba Ashin of Kaiama’s Iwala area was apprehended while attempting to steal goats from Hossan Abubakar,” the official claimed.

He said the suspect has been brought to the NSCDC state command in Ilorin, and that attempts are still underway to apprehend more gang members.
