For the 2021 Batch C prospective corps members, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has begun a pre-mobilization exercise.
The director general of the NYSC, Brig. Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, stated at the start of the exercise that the cheme’s relevance is undeniable.
He claimed that current adjustments in the mobilization procedure and other parts of the scheme’s operations were in line with their efforts to keep the scheme relevant.
On the topic of “Enhancing Stakeholders’ Roles for a Credible Mobilization Process,” he said the NYSC had recently faced issues because to the presentation of ineligible graduates for national service, despite the Schemes’ resolve to remove all sorts of sharp practices.
“It gives me great pleasure to report that data integrity has improved noticeably.” The reinvigorated commitment of Student Affairs and Data Entry Officers in various Corps Producing Institutions has been extremely promising.
“Despite the aforesaid accomplishments, few acts of commission and omission continue to be detected. As a result, we will not hesitate to impose the appropriate consequences on errant institutions and/or authorities as a deterrent to others. While Management is committed to the Mobilization process’ success, we expect other stakeholders to follow the rules in carrying out their obligations.
“As NYSC project stakeholders, you would agree with me that the Scheme’s enduring significance is undeniable.” As a result, the current improvements in the mobilization process and other parts of our operations are consistent with our goal of maintaining relevance,” he says.
