Three suspected fraudsters have been paraded by the Katsina State Police Command for circulating fake naira notes in the state.
SP. Gambo Isah, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, identified the three suspects as Anas Lawal, Abdulaziz Wada, and Tasi’u Umar in a press statement.
SP. Gambo said the suspects’ luck ran out when Anas Lawal, who had six hundred thousand Naira worth of phony Naira notes in his possession, was apprehended by a police unit on patrol along the Funtua – Katsina Road.
The statement further revealed that during the course of the investigation, the suspects admitted to receiving phony notes worth one million Naira from one Usman Gombe, who is presently on the run.
The suspect further revealed that he sold a bundle of bogus banknotes to one Tasi’u Nura for 20,000 Naira.
The police image maker stated that efforts are still being made to apprehend more fraud accomplices.
