On Friday, police operatives repelled a gunman attack on the Ezeagu Police Divisional Headquarters, which is located in the Aguobu-Owa town in Enugu State’s Ezeagu Local Government Area.
A police officer was shot and taken to an undisclosed hospital during the violent gunfight between the cops and the hoodlums.
The event occurred in the morning hours of October 8, according to the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, who confirmed the incident to NAN in Enugu.
“A full-scale inquiry has begun to find the yet-to-be-identified hoodlums who attacked Ezeagu Police Divisional Headquarters in a black-colored Corolla automobile.”
”The hoodlums were valiantly repulsed by on-duty police officers.
“However, a police officer who was shot in the leg was brought to the hospital and is responding to treatment,” he said.
The hoodlums, who are currently being pursued by the police, are thought to have fled with grievous gunshot wounds.
