President Muhammadu Buhari’s wife, Aisha Buhari, has urged the media to stop ignoring governors’ wives.
She addressed at a ceremony honoring certain first ladies in Abuja on Wednesday night.
Aliyu Abdullahi, Aisha’s spokesman, represented her as the Special Guest of Honour.
Aisha applauded governors’ wives for supporting women, the aged, the impoverished, and the less fortunate.
“I urge media professionals to engage more with first ladies in order to increase the visibility of their projects.”
“The relationship will be a win-win situation because the media will have fulfilled a part of its social responsibility,” she said, according to NAN.
The country’s First Lady went on to say that the media has an important role in setting the tone for debate and highlighting worthwhile causes.
