Three firefighters were hurt in a roaring wildfire that overtook a Long Island residence Sunday morning, according to police.
Around 1 a.m., an off-duty smoke eater discovered the fire at 88 Woodycrest Drive while driving in Farmingville and jumped into action, according to authorities.
In a statement, the Suffolk County Police Department said, “He stopped and walked into the home and safely evacuated all inhabitants.” “Three firefighters were brought to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment after suffering non-life threatening injuries.”
According to authorities, none of the residents were hurt.
Detectives from the Suffolk County Police Department’s Arson Section are looking into the incident.
