48-year-old woman killed by her own dog in Texas: Cops

According to investigators, a Texas woman discovered dead in her backyard may have been mauled by her own dogs.

Tiffany L. Frangione, 48, was discovered in her Houston yard last Friday morning with deadly puncture wounds to her neck.

According to detectives, Frangione had let her two puppies out into her backyard when they began fighting with the neighbor’s dog over the fence.

When Frangione’s own dogs – a 5-year-old female Alaskan husky mix and a male Cane Corso mix – went on her, they believe she was attempting to interfere.

When cops arrived on the scene, she was already dead.

According to local ABC affiliate KTRK, Frangione’s husband turned the two dogs over to the BARC Animal Shelter in Houston on Friday.

On Monday, the dogs were supposed to be put down.

Frangione’s formal cause of death will be determined by the autopsy results, according to police.

The decision will be made by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
