CSP Tijani Muhammed, the DPO of Obada Oko division, was alleged to have rallied his men in response to the intelligence, storming the forest where the five suspects were apprehended with the help of other security forces such as the So-Safe Corps, hunters, and local vigilantes.

The accused kidnappers were found carrying “packs of tramadol, Indian hemp, three cutlasses, drugs known as eskay, and two motorcycles with registration numbers MEK 504 VC and ODE 423 VC, as well as a monetary total of seventy-three thousand Naira,” according to the police spokesman.

He went on to say that a kidnap victim had recognized the accused as the ones who kidnapped him.

“His brother, who delivered the ransom money to them, named two of the suspects as individuals who took the money from him in exchange for his brother’s release,” Oyeyemi continued.

Meanwhile, Lanre Bankole, the Commissioner of Police, said the suspects will be sent to the State CIID’s anti-kidnapping section for a discreet investigation.
