MOVIE OF THE WEEK: ‘House of Gucci’ starring Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Al Pacino

We’ve chosen MGM’s latest drama ‘House of Gucci’ as our movie of the week this week.

Ridley Scott directs the film, which is based on Sara Gay Forden’s 2001 novel The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed, from a screenplay written by Roberto Bentivegna and Becky Johnston.

Oscar winner Lady Gaga plays Maurizio Gucci’s ex-wife, who was prosecuted and convicted in 1995 for plotting her ex-murder husband’s on the steps of his office. Adam Driver, Al Pacino, Jared Leto, Salma Hayek, Camille Cottin, Jack Huston, Jeremy Irons, Mdlina Ghenea, Reeve Carney, and Youssef Kerkour are among those who will appear alongside her.

The film is based on the terrible actual story of the Italian fashion business Gucci’s family dynasty. We see what a name means, what it’s worth, and how far a family will go for control over three decades of love, betrayal, decadence, revenge, and ultimately murder.

This week, the film will be released at local theaters.
