Nine individuals, including two women, have been paraded by the Ekiti State Police Command for murder, kidnapping, unlawful possession of firearms, and other crimes in the state.
The suspects were paraded at the police command in Ado-Ekiti yesterday, and the police said they included Jimoh Dele, also known as Dele Petim, who was detained in llorin, Kwara State, in January 2021 for the kidnapping of a popular petrol trader in Ekiti State.
Dele admitted to specializing in burglary and motorcycle theft, and that he had burgled more than 10 shops/houses and hauled away more than 12 motorcycles, according to the command.
Ayo Samuel, a 63-year-old dismissed police officer, was also paraded, confessing to being a member of the state’s kidnap group. Another suspect was Mubarak Bello of Igbara-Ode-Ekiti, who on November 8, 2021, requested N50,000 in ransom for a kidnapped lady, Abdullahi Shekina.

A woman, Nana Sule, who faked her kidnapping on November 20, 2021, along Ifaki/Oye-Ekiti road with some passengers was also arrested and paraded.
The police said she called her husband that kidnappers were demanding N50,000 ransom, but it was later discovered that she faked her kidnap to get money from her relatives.
