Rudi Garcia, the former Lyon head coach, has maintained that he is already in Manchester after meeting with Manchester United about being their interim manager.
Man United approached Garcia about the interim post before their 2-0 Champions League victory against Villarreal on Tuesday night in Spain.
The 57-year-old has been in talks with the Red Devils to take over till the conclusion of the season.
Manchester United’s manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, was recently fired, and Michael Carrick was briefly appointed as interim manager.
‘I’m already there in Manchester [laughs],’ Garcia said of the development to Canal Plus.
“I’m here to comment on a very good game between Manchester City and PSG.
“In all seriousness, I don’t usually comment on rumours in my career. I won’t say anything about it.
“Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in the world. I neither confirm nor deny anything.”
Garcia took over a Lyon side that was 14th in the French Ligue 1 and steered them to the UEFA Champions League semi-final and the French cup final.
His side received praise for knocking out Manchester City and Juventus en route to the semi-final.
