The Lagos budget for 2022 was submitted to the House of Assembly on Wednesday by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The ‘Budget Of Consolidation’ provided by Sanwo-Olu was N1,388,285,459,990.
Mudashiru Obasa, the Speaker, urged him to concentrate on policies that will provide more democratic dividends to the people.
Sanwo-Olu received a vote of confidence from Obasa, who praised him for his accomplishments in office thus far.
The governor’s backing from the Assembly, according to the member, is reflected in his administration’s victories.
He encouraged the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari to “rejig Nigeria’s economy to reduce unemployment, insecurity, and poverty.”
Prior to the White Paper submission, Obasa asked Lagosians to “be patient and not create controversies” on the Panel of Inquiry on Police SARS brutality and other topics.
After modifying the 2021 budget, the legislature authorized a sum of N1.25 trillion on October 5.
The House had on December 29, 2020, passed the 2021 Appropriation Bill of N1.164trillion.
