SARS extends tax return deadline in South Africa

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has extended the non-provisional individual taxpayers’ filing season due from November 23 to December 2, 2021.

SARS said this is despite a “overwhelming response” from individuals who have filed personal income tax returns since July of this year

SARS encourages taxpayers to use the agency’s digital channels, including eFiling, SARS MobiApp, and the SMS service. Taxpayers can arrange an appointment at a SARS branch, check if they need to file a return, and access additional services by sending an SMS to the number 47277.
