What Pochettino said as he signs Manchester United shirt

Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, signed a Manchester United shirt for a fan on Wednesday.

The Argentine signed the autograph inside PSG’s team hotel prior to PSG’s 2-1 Champions League loss to Manchester City.

Even when one of his agents tried to prevent him from signing the shirt, the Argentine answered, “It’s fine, it’s fine,” and signed it anyway.

Pochettino is the frontrunner to succeed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was fired on Sunday.

Pochettino is thought to be interested in becoming the next permanent manager of Manchester United and is dissatisfied with his current scenario at PSG.

However, signing the autograph suggests that the former Tottenham manager’s long-term destiny may lie with United.

“We met Poch today, and the person said,’see if you can get him to sign a Man United shirt.’

“That’s my kid’s shirt, what they didn’t post was the photo of him signing it,” Billy, the United supporter, said in an interview with talkSPORT.

“There was a representative next to him going, ‘excuse me, it’s a Manchester United shirt, he won’t sign it’. And he goes, ‘it’s fine, it’s fine’ and he signed it.

“I fully expected him to [not sign it]. I said [to my son], ‘get your card signed first and put your shirt out and see what happens’.

“He was being told to turn it down, so he did have an out, but he didn’t and he signed it.”
