The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has scheduled a power outage in Imo from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 4.
This is according to a statement signed by Mr Emeka Ezeh, EEDC’s Head of Corporate Communications, and made accessible to journalists in Owerri on Thursday.
The outage, which will affect the Owerri-Alaoji 132KV line 1, will allow the Transmission Company of Nigeria’s technical personnel to attend to a line problem on one of the towers, according to Ezeh.
He also stated that the Owerri-Alaoji 132KV line 2 would be halted during the exercise as an additional precaution for the engineers’ safety.
“The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) wishes to advise her valued customers in Imo State of a planned outage on Owerri-Alaoji 132KV line 1 on Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.”
“The interruption will disrupt supplies to Egbu Transmission Station and all 33KV feeders feeding Owerri and New Owerri districts, including Mbaise, Okigwe, Alex, Airport, Owerri, Orlu, New Oguta, and Oguta.”
“As a result, our customers in Imo (excluding areas of Orlu and Mbaise that receive power from Anambra and Umuahia, respectively) will be without power during the maintenance time.”
“We apologize for any difficulty this may give our valued clients, and we assure them that supply will be restored as soon as the TCN team finishes the repair,” he stated.
EEDC’s commitment to better service delivery to her customers was stated here.
