Jigawa: 22-year-old man stabs brother to death

Alfred Julius, a 22-year-old man, has been arrested in the Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State for reportedly stabbing his elder brother to death.

After a dispute between the suspect and his 30-year-old elder brother, Augustine Julius, the event occurred yesterday in Sabuwar, resulting in physical combat.

According to eyewitnesses, Alfred killed his older brother (Augustine) by stabbing him with a knife.

The incident was confirmed by ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the Police Public Relations Officer.

“On 5/1/2021, at around 2200hrs, police received information that a wounded victim had been transferred to Rashid Shekoni Teaching Hospital, Dutse, following a battle,” he said.

He claimed that following a fight, the police leapt into action and hurried to the hospital, where they learned that Augustine Julius had been stabbed with a knife by his younger brother.

A medical practitioner confirmed the victim’s death while he was undergoing treatment, according to Shiisu.

He claimed the suspect bolted after committing the act, and that an all-out effort was made with the help of his relatives to apprehend him and bring him to justice.
