Kaduna: Bandits kills man, others behind Kadpoly

…Operates for over an hour – Eyewitness

At least one person have been reportedly shot dead and several others kidnapped in fresh by armed bandits in Gbagyi villa, a popular community behind Kaduna Polytechnic, Sabon Tasha Campus, Kaduna.

An eyewitness account said the “bandits numbering over 30 stormed the community around Monday – Tuesday night”, and unleashed the violent on the victims.

According to the sources the bandits shot the first person encountered close to his house, proceeded to his compound and abducted his pregnant wife and two children.

The eyewitness, Mr. Andoma Usman, also explained that “the hoodlums went about combing houses, street by street.

Usman further informed that the Bandits also Kidnapped another woman and her two children after the first house, and also abducted another young man who was about to step into his house.

He also told Journalists that the hoodlums were in the process of going to the next house when personnel drawn from the Nigerian Army arrived at the scene and engaged them in a heavy gunfight that lasted for over an hour.

“As the bandits were about to leave the other houses, security operatives arrived at the scene and a heavy gunfight ensued between them and the bandits.

“Heavy arms were used during the fight, as we continued to hear loud bangs and explosions. Unable to withstand the fire from the soldiers, the criminals retreated but went along with seven people, including four children, he concluded.

Contacted for confirmation, the spokesman of kaduna State police command ASP Muhammed Jalige who promised to get back could not respond till press time.
