Woman arrested for illegally injecting teen with COVID-19 vaccine

According to authorities, a Long Island lady was detained on Saturday for illegally injecting a 17-year-old boy with the COVID-19 vaccine at her house without the teen’s parental authorization.

According to Nassau County police, Laura Russo, 54, who is not a doctor or licensed to administer vaccines, was arrested for the New Year’s Eve event at her Sea Cliff home.

According to detectives, the authorities were alerted after the boy left Russo’s home and told his mother about the jab.

Russo was charged with unlicensed professional practice and given a desk appearance ticket.

She is scheduled to appear in court on January 21, according to police.
