Man Caught Stealing Ogun Court Generator in Drama
Folorunsho Olaniyan, 28, was apprehended while allegedly attempting to steal a generator from a customary court in Ogun State’s Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area.
Olaniyan, an Ota native, was apprehended by the court registrar, Kareem Tolulope.
According to a source, the suspect broke into the office where the generator was kept on Tuesday, January 24, by unscrewing the building’s lock.
According to the source, the suspect committed the crime during a public holiday declared by the state government for the collection of Permanent Voter Cards.
Mercy Ajewole, a Local Government Service Commission official, also confirmed the suspect’s arrest.
She claimed Olaniyan confessed to breaking into the secretariat by jumping the fence and was arrested.
“Two screwdrivers and a bag were discovered on him,” she added.
SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Public Relations Officer for the Ogun State Police, could not be reached for comment as of press time.
