Deji Adeyanju, a political activist, believes he knows what it will take to make Ademola Adeleke governor of Osun State again.
The only thing that, according to Adeyanju, can save Adeleke is if PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar wins in February.
Adeyanju claimed in a series of tweets that the courts are about to steal Adeleke’s victory under threat of violence.
It is Adeyanju’s contention that
With all the vote buying unleashed by the APC in Osun, Adeleke won the election right in front of our eyes, but the judges are now poised to steal it from him. For some reason, I find the Made in Court Room Democracies category puzzling.
Tinubu and his followers are hellbent on securing Osun’s conviction at the Tribunal. They will get what they want by any means necessary, legal or otherwise. Only a miracle from above or a PDP win in February can save Adeleke now.
In their decision to overturn Adeleke’s victory, the Osun Election Tribunal cites over voting in certain polling units as the reason. The BVAS and INEC result portals will be rendered useless if the Supreme Court upholds this decision.
The over voting could have come from either side, but we’ll wait to hear what the Appeal Court and Supreme Court have to say about it.
