Amotekun Osun of the Western Security Network Agency has apprehended two suspects known for carrying out terror attacks on residents of Osogbo’s Ita-Olokan area.
The security firm also revealed that the two men, 27-year-old Afeez Olaniyan and 23-year-old Ismail Wahab, who were apprehended after a tip-off from local residents, were in possession of a locally-made pistol.
The Osun Amotekun Corps Commander, Brigadier-General Bashir Adewinmbi, confirmed their arrests in Osogbo to journalists on Wednesday, stating that the security outfit swung into action immediately and got them arrested.
Adewinmbi explained that the operatives apprehended the suspected hoodlums for terrorizing the residents of Ita-Olokan, Osogbo, and its environs.
“On Wednesday, the suspected hoodlums were apprehended.”
after receiving a distress call from residents in the area regarding the suspects’ activities in unleashing an attack on the residents of Ita-Olokan Osogbo and its environs.
“Our operatives swung into action immediately after the complaint was made, and the perpetrators were apprehended with a locally made pistol gun on them at the time of their arrest.”
“Upon investigation, they confessed to committing the act and using the firearm to protect themselves,” according to the report.
Adewinmbi agreed.
Adewinmbi went on to say that the suspects had been turned over to police for further investigation and questioning.
