Yesterday, an Izaga Masquerade narrowly avoided death after being involved in a fatal traffic accident at the Awkuzu Junction in the Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.
A Santa/KC Motorcycle and a BAU Cement Truck were involved in an accident.
In addition to the Izaga Masquerade, four adult males were reportedly involved.
Eyewitness accounts claim that while the motorcyclist carrying him attempted to pass a truck, the long legs of the masquerade struck the moving truck, causing the other passenger to fall off and be crushed to death by the back tyre.
Adeoye Irelewuyi, the Corps Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra, issued a statement regarding the traffic accident.
In addition to noting that one of the male adults perished in the crash, the load violation was cited as the crash’s cause.
Four adult male males were involved in the collision, according to Irelewuyi. Two male adults were saved unharmed, one male adult was injured, and one male adult (the pillon) was killed.
The victim was taken by the FRSC rescue team from RS5.33 Nteje Anambra State to Chira Hospital in Akwuzu, where one adult male was confirmed dead. His corpse was then deposited at the same wisdom mortuary.
“The team also saw to it that the crash’s damage was cleared up. The truck driver has been turned over to Oyi Police Division as of the time of this report.
Irelewuyi, however, expressed sympathy to the victim’s family and sent healing vibes to the wounded.
