Frank Lampard, the interim manager of Chelsea, praised Manchester United’s “clinical nature” when scoring goals.
That made a difference, according to Lampard, in the Blues’ 4-1 defeat at Old Trafford on Thursday.
Mykhailo Mudryk missed an early opportunity for the Blues, and then Casemiro headed in the game’s first goal. Before halftime, Anthony Martial added a second goal.
Marcus Rashford added a fourth after Bruno Fernandes successfully converted his penalty.
At Old Trafford, Chelsea got one back thanks to Joao Felix.
As Lampard stated to Sky Sports:
“The clinical approach in goal. In terms of possession and chances, we were the superior football team in the first half.
To be down 2-0 is probably not good. a sign of where we’re at. Second half, probably a sign of where we’re at.”
