Chief Bode George, a former PDP deputy national chairman, said yesterday that he had pardoned Bola Tinubu, the incoming president.
George, who evaluated President Muhammadu Buhari’s final term in office, claimed that he fell short of expectations.
According to the Vanguard, the PDP leader claimed that the Buhari administration had little positive influence on Nigerians’ lives because he had failed to uphold security, which was his primary duty.
“In my opinion, he failed—not completely in every area, but if you take a test and the passing score is at least 33 percent, you pass,”
to the following class, but they fell short of that 33 percent.
“I can give them maybe 5%, but getting even that would require a lot of reflection. Security of lives and property is the most crucial thing that your government must provide for the people. Who is safe right now?
Therefore, it is heartbreaking and extremely disheartening that he failed to uphold security of lives and property, which was his top priority.
“You know, oga (Buhari) was telling us when he first came in that he would fight corruption, protect the lives and property of the populace, and make all kinds of promises.
Let’s now implement those promises.
Because that is what will be recorded in the annals of history, his departure. Whatever a leader does while in office will go down in history, he said.
Upon being asked if he would cooperate with Tinubu, George responded, “There is nothing personal, this country trained me and I have to give back.”
He responded to why he was hesitant to support Tinubu by saying, “I have forgiven him, but you cannot forget.”
