The governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has warned oil marketers to refrain from subjecting the populace to unwarranted hardship by inducing artificial fuel scarcity both within and outside of the state.
The governor said in a statement released on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Rafiu Ajakaye, that his deputy, Mr. Kayode Alabi, would lead a task force to gas stations to prevent petroleum marketers from hoarding.
The Task Force will enter the pits of the fuel stations, so take note. The Certificate of Occupancy (CofO) of any gas stations found to be stockpiling fuel will be revoked, among other sanctions.
Instance brought about by fuel shortage, per Tribune Online findings Artificial scarcity is the deliberate misrepresentation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s, GCFR, remarks on fuel subsidies. No hardships should be imposed on the populace.
The governor requests that marketers refrain from any actions that could be considered economic sabotage of the populace. It is opportunistic to hoard fuel purchased at reduced prices and to incite panic in the state; this behavior will not be tolerated.
A task force will be headed by His Excellency the Deputy Governor Mr. Kayode Alabi to ensure that no fuel marketer places the people of Kwara State through unjustified hardship.
