Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, has officially been designated President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, according to a new report.
According to a Daily Independent article, this development would immediately remove Gbajabialmila from the incoming 10th National Assembly and leave his position in the lower legislative house vacant.
During the general election, the charismatic Gbajabiamila was chosen to serve a sixth term in the lower chamber as the representative of Lagos State’s Surulere Federal Constituency.
According to PMNews, his chief of staff, Olanrewaju Smart Wasiu, published the following on his official Facebook page on Thursday morning:
“President Bola Tinubu has made his first appointment, choosing Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, as the president’s Chief of Staff, after several hours of meetings and consultations.”
Wasiu, in the meantime, refuted the allegation on a different Facebook page by pointing out that nothing of the sort was on the table.
Fake news is a beast that needs to be controlled, he wrote. Please disregard any false information about political appointments that uses this account as a source. There was never any such posting here.
