Nnamdi Dike, 41, was sentenced to remain in custody on Monday by an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly defiling his lover’s 12-year-old daughter.
A sexual assault case is being brought against the defendant, a security guard who resides at 27, Salami St., Akute, Ogun State.
at lieu of accepting the defendant’s plea, Chief Magistrate Mrs. Bola Osunsanmi ordered his detention at Kirikiri Correctional Facility pending legal counsel from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The case was then postponed until June 26 by the magistrate.
The defendant allegedly committed the crime at 37, Shogbade St., Power Line area, Ifako Ijaiye, Lagos, at some point in November 2022, according to the prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem.
According to the prosecutor, the 12-year-old victim told her teacher about how the defendant, who was her mother’s lover, allegedly molested her sexually.
Akeem continued by saying that the defendant would frequently molest the girl when her mother was away from the house and would make death threats if she notified anybody.
However, according to Akeem, the teacher told the victim’s mother, who reported the incident to the police station.
The crime, according to the prosecution, violated section 137 of the Lagos State Criminal Law from 2015.
