Former Chelsea coach Roberto Di Matteo said Pep Guardiola is afraid of Italian clubs.
Manchester City will face Inter Milan in the Champions League final on Saturday.
The Premier League champions are favorites to win the game in Istanbul, since they are closing in on a treble after also winning the FA Cup.
But Di Matteo feels Guardiola is apprehensive about facing Italian teams because he knows how difficult they can be.
He spoke to Football-Italia:
“You go to church with the entire team and pray; jokes aside, motivation is everything, and we had it.” We weren’t entirely fit, but we were confident we could make it. Inter have the same attitude; they don’t appear to be a fearful team.
“Guardiola is more than just a coach; he is a visionary, but he knows how competitive the Italians are and fears us.”
