Kylian Mbappe, France’s captain, made history on Monday by scoring in his team’s Euro 2024 qualifiers against Greece.
Mbappe scored the game’s lone goal as France defeated Greece 1-0 at the Stade de France.
With his goal against Greece, the Paris Saint-Germain front has now become France’s all-time leading goalscorer in a single season, surpassing the late great Just Fontaine’s record of 54 in 1958.
France defeated Greece after the 24-year-old converted his second penalty attempt.
The goal was also his 40th for the France national team in 70 appearances.
Les Bleus have now won their first four Euro 2024 qualifiers and are well on their way to securing a place in the European Championships, which will be held in Germany.
